Langley Park School for Boys has received a £32.3-million grant for new buildings to replace fully its current facilities on Hawksbrook Lane in Beckenham.
The Department for Education and Skills has provided the grant as part of its Building Schools for the Future programme. Bromley Education Authority selected Langley Park School for Boys at a meeting on Monday, 6th November.
Construction will start early in 2008 and will be completed for the academic year starting in September 2009. Planning has now started and the school will ensure that the whole community is involved in this process, particularly those directly affected.
There will be no disruption to the current students as the building will take place on the existing playing fields while temporary access has been secured to other nearby sports facilities.
